FDAImports.com is excited to attend and participate in Natural Products Expo West again this year, meeting and talking with many industry members involved in bringing natural products to the United States market. We are looking forward to joining the discussion on “Defining Natural Together” in the Retailer Town Hall Session on Friday, March 7, from 3:30 to 4:45. The open-dialogue meeting, which will begin early on Twitter using the topic #DefineNatural, will focus on finding a meaningful industry definition of “natural,” based on customer, industry, and FDA concerns. Mr. Quinn will discuss several of the recent court cases concerning “natural” claims, and how these cases relate to FDA’s opinion on this issue.
Plan on attending the session to learn more about FDA’s approach toward and the courts’ treatment of “natural” claims and products. “FDA hasn’t published a standard for treatment of natural claims or products, which leaves it with discretion to decide what ‘natural’ means. That doesn’t mean firms can’t anticipate the Agency’s leanings and learn from recent cases – especially if FDAImports.com is helping to watch and predict. The market for natural products is growing, and companies can take advantage of these benefits!”
