FDAImports.com recently attended and sponsored the Maryland China Business Council’s (MCBC) 18th Annual New Year Banquet at Hunan Manor restaurant in Columbia, MD. The annual banquet provides valuable networking opportunities for many professionals, dignitaries and embassy personnel involved in US/China trade, including companies involved in FDA-regulated commodities. “It’s clear that there is significant opportunity here,” said Ben England, Founder and CEO of FDA consulting firm, FDAImports.com (ExportToUsa.com.cn in China). Shelly Li, Regulatory Specialist in the firm’s Qingdao, China office, was also in attendance for the second year in a row. “We were able to see many familiar faces as well as new faces at the banquet this year. It was a bit like a reunion. It was also encouraging to see more of the younger generation in attendance.”
In regard to the state of Chinese exports to the United States, Mr. England pointed out that the coming years could signal a shift in how Chinese companies get FDA-regulated goods into the U.S. “Simply put, Chinese companies need to become their own exporters,” said England. “
The import situation in a post-FSMA world is becoming more complex to the point that it makes more sense for companies to become their own middle-man, to launch a new arm of their business that will replace the traditional third-party importer.” England pointed out that this new model, while not without risks, could prove to be the defining moment in how Chinese companies will transition into a post-FSMA trade landscape. FDAImports.com has created a turn-key importer program specifically designed to help Chinese and other international companies become their own importers and make significant inroads into the U.S. Market.
